About the Madrigals
.
The Madrigal Singers have represented Davis Senior High School since 1966
An auditioned 32 member mixed chamber choir, the Davis High School Madrigal Singers perform a cappella and accompanied music dating from the Renaissance period to present times. Music performed by the choir includes compositions by early composers Morley, Victoria, Palestrina, Monteverdi and modern composers Eric Whitacre and Randall Stroope.
In their distinctive, Renaissance-inspired
costumes, the choir performs approximately 40 times each year at
various public and private events.
Each December, the choir presents a lively holiday feast in the spirit
of the 16th Century. This feast is one of the Davis community's
longest-running and best-loved musical traditions.

Community Outreach and Education
Many of the Davis High School Madrigal Singers' most treasured experiences come through community outreach. Each year, the choir's performances bring joy to local schools, hospitals, and charities. And through the annual DHS Madrigal Singer Choral Workshop, the choir shares its rich musical education with hundreds of elementary and junior high school students.
